Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has turned down Gary Megson’s request to allow loanee striker Sanchez Watt to play in Saturday’s FA Cup second round tie at home to Aldershot.
Megson contacted the Gunners boss to see if he would release the 20-year-old to make his Owls debut against the Shots but Wenger does not want Watt cup-tied.
Meanwhile, Huddersfield’s 2-0 defeat at Charlton on Monday night means Wednesday remain in second spot, one place and one point above the Terriers,but seven points behind leaders Charlton.
