Aarons eyes place in starting line-up

Rolando Aarons is expected to make the starting line-up for the first time since his deadline day loan move from Newcastle when Wednesday take on Swansea at Hillsborough on Saturday.

Aarons caught the eye of watching boss Steve Bruce, scoring a goal and striking the woodwork in the under-23s 2-0 midweek win at Sheff U, and may well have been given his chance against the Swans.

Now, with George Boyd missing training on Friday due to sickness, Aarons looks even more likely to step up and add some much-needed pace and trickery to our midfield.

Tom Lees is fit to return after missing three games with his shin problem and is an obvious replacement for Jordan Thorniley who is sidelined following the head injury sustained at Rotherham last weekend.

With Fernando Forestieri suspended, Bruce could well start with the partnership of Steven Fletcher and Lucas Joao up front.

We go into the game on an unbeaten five-match run in the Championship, but with just two wins and four goals during that time, and looking to improve on a home record of just five wins in 15 league matches at S6.
